WHAT IS AFRICA?
Ecrit par Meszac
Introduction
Nowadays, it is observed in the world that Africa is
poor and when we really look at how things are going on in Africa, we can
surely confirm this declaration. First of all, what makes a country or a nation
a developed one is its advanced technological infrastruture, its matured and
sophisticated economy, its diverse industrial and service sectors etc. But, we
can openly and clearly see Africa at the bottom position in matters of
technological development and achievement; its economy seems to be very little.
Actually, this is true, it is not yet certain that Africa can come out of this
situation in years to come.
Secondly, great inventions have not yet ocured in
Africa. Though there are many fighting for the development of Africa but there
is still much to deal with and still much to achieve.
Yet, it has been proven that Africa has what it takes
to be developed, even to control this world but something is wrong and African
leaders have not yet found the real solution to tackle this eventually. In
effect, if African leaders can really think of Africa and really decide to set
Africa free, Africa will get out of this situation and the glory will show up.
At one hand, Africans create their own barriers for
their freedom and they will never be free until they think of how to rebuild
Africa because the leadership of Africa has remained non challant and need to
be reshuffled for better future of African population.
In the second hand, we have seen how African leaders are
being manipulated and coerced. In fact,
they don’t have any other choice than to submit because they are afraid to die
but it will be over one day and Africans will regain their total freedom in
order to think freely and to make happen their big dream.
Actually, Africa has great potential to actualize its
dreams because its men are intelligent making other countries great. Africa’s
resources are being used to make great inventions in the world. But the
question is, why will Africa still remain poor despite all its potentials,
great men and its great resources?
Finaly in this book, you will discover Africa, its impacts
in the world generally, its strong potential and how it found itself in this
degrading situation, the cause of its unstability and what should be done in
Africa to get back its freedom in order to become THE WORLD POWER in the up
coming years.
CHAPTER I
WHAT IS
AFRICA?
Africa is a pretty and bright
continent, such as an expensive jewel with adequate material resources for
potential development. It is endowed with beauty and its beauty is compared to
the sunshine and a bright morning star which can be seen by all men on earth
but the owners of this beautiful virtue seem very blind and are unable to see
this beauty. Its riches are incomparable to any other in the world; its raw
materials are of the first class and is pursued by every world power today. Its
population which is one billion three hundred forty-three million eight hundred
ninety-nine thousand one hundred eighty-five (1.343.899.185) is equivalent to 16,72% of the total world population.
Africa is the second-largest
continent, connected to Asia by the Isthmus of Suez and lying between the
Mediterranean Sea and the Atlantic and Indian Oceans. It has approximately 30%
of the earth’s remaining mineral resources. In terms of precious metals, Africa
has the largest reserves of precious metals with over 40% of the gold reserves,
over 60% of the colbat, and 90% of the platinum reserves.
Africa, despite all its
quality and wealth, remains the least developed continent in the world. It is
even referred to as the dark continent and Africans, no matter their standard
of education and achievements are looked down upon and ridiculed everywhere.
But going back to the history of mankind, Africa is the origin of the human
race and historically the cradle of civilization.
These following questions as
to what is Africa? How did Africa find itself in this degrading situation? And
how can Africa get out of this situation? are the real questions that is
blowing the true and real PanAfricanists’ mind but the new African generation
is rising for a new response and a radical change, RELAX, WATCH AND SEE!
AFRICA AND ITS
RICHES
Africa is blessed with
rich bounty natural resources. It holds around 30% of the world's known mineral
reserves. These include cobalt, uranium, diamonds and gold, as well as
significant oil and gas reserves. Apart from the natural resources, it is also
blessed with a very intelligent human resources which have become lights to the
current world through their inventions. The world is where it is today because
of Africa’s bright men and women. We can not talk of the great inventions that have
ocured in this world without mentioning the great men of Africa; Africa is a
great legend in the history of world development. The world knows and actually
is afraid of Africa because something is being prepared to blow. The
demographic state of Africa is also a great tool linked to the development of
Africa. We all know that the African population is multiplying and until 2050,
anything can happen to the world, Africa will take over. Taking only the
Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC), it is one of the
richest countries in the world in terms of natural resources. It sits on an
estimated $24 trillion worth of natural resources, including 3.2 trillion cubic
feet of natural gas, large deposits of iron ore, platinum, diamonds, gold and
uranium, as well as 106270 square kilometers of arable land but guess what,
Congo is counted among the poorest countries in the world economically. This is
actually sad though but one thing I keep saying is, Africa is rising. RELAX, WATCH AND SEE!
AFRICAN
HISTORY
Many years ago, it was
said that Africa has no history and many have considered this as truth. But the
question is, how can a whole continent have no history? How can human beings
have no history? How can a habitation of people have no history? How can the
origin of mankind have no history? This sounds awkward and is absolutely absurd.
When we take a look back into human origin, we can easily conclude that Africa
has history because as long as there is existence, there is history. So, if
Africa does not have history, how did the explorers explore it? Or were aliens
living on the land of Africa before they came to Africa? Did they capture
aliens to their own continent as slaves? These questions have to be answered
and from now on, we have to put it in our mind and believe that Africa has history.
In reality Africa has history because Amadou Hampâté Bâ accordingly said ‘’
An old man who dies in Africa is a burning library’’
When we go back to mankind
origin, Africa is nicknamed the Mother Continent due to its being the very
oldest and the only continent inhabited on earth. It’s proven that Humans and
human ancestors have lived in Africa for more than 5 million years. The African
continent has a unique place in human history. Widely believed to be the cradle
of humankind, Africa is the only continent with fossil evidence of human
beings.
Today, Africa is home to more countries than any other
continent in the world. These countries are: Morocco, Western Sahara (Morocco),
Algeria, Tunisia, Libya, Egypt, Sudan, Chad, Niger, Mali, Mauritania, Senegal,
The Gambia, Guinea-Bissau, Guinea, Sierra Leone, Liberia, Côte d’Ivoire, Ghana,
Burkina Faso, Togo, Benin, Nigeria, Cameroon, Central Africa Republic, Equatorial
Guinea, Gabon, Congo, Democratic Republic of the Congo, Angola, Namibia,
Botswana, South Africa, Lesotho, Swaziland, Mozambique, Zimbabwe, Zambia,
Malawi, Tanzania, Rwanda, Burundi, Uganda, Kenya, Somalia, Ethiopia, Djibouti,
Eritrea and the island countries of Cape Verde, Madagascar, Mauritius,
Seychelles.
Going back to science, Mathmatics, geometry, astronomy
and all other subjects were learnt from Africa by the great inventors of these
fields. There is no need indulging in deep details of this but Africa has
history and without Africa, the world wouldn’t have existed because everything
started in Africa.
Based on Amadou Hampâté Bâ
saying, it is a prove to us
that African old men are libraries themselves containing African history. They
are able to narrate deep things about Africa without reffering to any book and
this is a very great mystery. Africa of course has history.
